The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is proud to recognize and thank Captain Daniel Norris for his exemplary and dedicated service to the citizens of Montgomery County over the past thirty-nine years. Vedha, a global conference speaker and news source in Texas, uses her skills to train those around her to write letters and offers monthly training sessions for young people to encourage them to take action in their community. During Volunteer Week, the OneStar Foundation honors the exemplary service of individuals, groups and organizations that have made significant contributions to Texas communities through service and volunteerism. The PACT Excellence Award is presented to Brian Lennon, a recruitment specialist who has been assigned to the Recruiting Division for 12 years and continues to receive the “Exceeds Expectations” award in his annual evaluations from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
Amber Fowler, a dyslexia specialist at Lone Star Elementary School in the Montgomery Independent School District, and third grade teacher Christine Melley, from Stewart Elementary School in the Conroe Independent School District in Woodforest, were the first two of eight awards given this year. Each of this year's award winners is a powerful testament to the exceptional character of Texas and demonstrates what it really means to make a difference in the lives of others. Detective Rizk discovered that the suspect had already been executed by lethal injection for a capital murder case in 1989 in Montgomery County, and had no DNA sample.
